  • Hurrah! Almost the end of the term…

OK, all meet, 7pm, O’Neills, Saturday. Get merry. Bring Santa stuff 🙂
Will be home v late on Friday evening, but hey, that’s the way it goes. The father’s giving Gonz0 a lift home at the same time, so we have to go the nasty M1 route via Sheffield. This may take a little extra time.
Aside from that, nothing to report (except for a niggling little projectette that has to be in at noon tmrw).

    See you all Saturday…

And as we walk on down the road,
Our shadows taller than our soul,
There walks a lady we all know..
Who is called Tammy and is engaged! HURRAY!

    *giggle*

  • Drivin’ home for Christmas..

OK dudes, term ends on the 15th Dec (that’s next Friday).
Brad and I (and I assume Dave) will be at home on that Saturday therefore, so all must get together and be mucho tipsy.
Greeny, Jon, you should be home now, or very soon, therefore you deserve much beating.
I shall spend the entire holiday gloating at the lot of you because I will have NO WORK to do, as I have finished it 🙂
/me points at Cambridge undergraduates and sniggers quietly.

Went home last weekend, for ski practice (we’re going skiing over Christmas! YAY!). Had a lovely time.
Was gonna meet up with some of you lot in Harrogate (so that’s Kate in York then), but she had a ju-jitsu exam or suchlike. Not sure how it went yet.
Nevertheless, the train journey back to London was going fine, until we got delayed around Newark.
Which wasn’t so bad; we only lost 45 minutes.
What took the piss was the fact that after we got south of Peterborough, the train broke.
They had to send a nice diesel engine out from King’s Cross to give us a tow.
So, after leaving Leeds at 1805 on the Sunday evening, I arrived at 0045 on Monday morning. Not good.
GNER paid for a taxi home though (£50 – how I laughed).

Many many celebrations going on recently.. was Kris’ birthday on Monday, and Karl’s birthday last night. Me is v v tired indeed.
Went out to the Comedy Store last night for Karl’s aforementioned birthday celebration, where much hilarity ensued.
5 comedians… all v v good. I haven’t laughed so much since Greeny last alleged that Cambridge was better than Imperial. Um.

Ah yes, and all HGS people must sign up to the HGS list I have set up.
To achieve this end, mail me and I’ll add you.

    Anyway…

    Malkowich Malkowich?
    Malkowich.
    Malkowich, Malkowich Malkowich?
    Malkowich.
    Malkowich?
    MALKOWICH!!!!

  • Oh, the times they are a-changin’

    Dum dum Dum!
    So there.

Oooo, the fun never stops down here in happenin’ hip hoppin’ London, I can tell you.
Actually, I can’t complain too much; let me explain the result of my current ebullient mood (yet not.. in a funny kinda way).

Good things have been happening in the heady world of Nickland recently.
I’ve spent a large amount of money going out recently, which has been exceptionally enjoyable:
Comedy night at the union week before last was most cool.
Friend’s b’day celebrations… we went to Nando’s (chicken restaurant). Much hilarity ensued as the incumbent was ordered an extra hot whole chicken, (rather than the “medium” he wanted), by a not-so well meaning friend. *chuckle*

Spent the night over at Pete, Al’s and Karl’s place on Tuesday, where we spent a hilarious evening swilling beer and eating tortilla chips, whilst watching “The Big Lebowski”. A most excellent film I would say.
Al knocked the dip off the chair, and somehow (don’t ask) it managed to spill itself; not only on Pete’s arm, but also on Pete’s computer, desk, clothes, and… (wait for it) the wall, and CEILING! We are talking a 10 foot high room here. How the sam hill it managed to make it up there we don’t know.
Suffice it to say the whole room was in fits of laughter for about 20 mins straight. roflmao

Oooh yes, Phil came round for the weekend a few weeks back, and we all went out to Covent Garden with Boag, Dave and Gonz0. Brad wasn’t there (I don’t think).
Met some lovely Americans, who Boag decided to bamboozle with some crap about the Germans starting the 1st World War ‘cos they were jealous about the size of the British Empire. *chuckle*
Nevertheless, very nice people indeed. Am keeping in touch via email.

Um. I’m sure I’ll think of something else to post soon.

hakuna matata. what a wonderful phrase.
hakuna matata. ain’t no passin’ craze…
it means no worries, for the rest of your days…
    it’s a problem free… philosophy…
    hakuna matata.

  • Hello! (Again)

Was just sent a very complementary email from Brad regarding my website; how much he enjoyed the quality computer-speak info, and how much more of it I ought to publish on the site.
Truthfully, unfortunately, he seems to reckon that telling people more about real life and less about “boring” subjects such as my course (those of you doing CS modules/degrees will dispute this assessment of course).
If you really want to learn about my “real” life, carry on reading. If not, skip about 2 paragraphs and carry on.

OK, now for IRL stuff. Moved into the new house about 2 months ago, and after extensive work (mainly by one of my housemates – due to reasons I shall explain later), is beginning to look quite nice. I was walking around it yesterday after a particularly frenzied tidying up session in my bedroom, and thought “This is going to be OK”. This is all very well, although unfortunately the house is a minimum of 1hr from college (combined bus and tube journey), so this cuts into my waking hours significantly.
Broke up with the girlfriend (again) about a month ago, which is probably for the best.

Anyway, back to stuff that may interest the majority of you. Phil (Chapman) is coming to London next weekend (that is the weekend beginning the 14th Oct), and so I think a gathering of all of us living in London is in order. Brad, Dave, Tim, Al, etc. pls e-mail me! I only know Brad & Dave’s e-mails at college (having lost Tim’s), and Al’s only just moved down to London, so we all need to get in touch pretty sharpish.
Richard Fee is now at Warwick, although I’ve heard nothing from him in the way of e-mails so far. Cutting him a little slack though, he’s been on Fresher’s Week all last week, so I suppose I ought to give him a few more days to recover :))
Seems that Kate Bergel has arrived at looniversity in York, although I can’t remember the exact details of the blanket e-mail she sent out. I seem to remember that she was doing Maths & Computing, so all luck to her for that.
Al Boag has also arrived in London, but I haven’t had a chance to get in touch yet….

Um…. run out of things to say. Worked for the Dept. of Computing here at Imperial over the summer, which is why I wasn’t around in Harrogate. Rest assured that I shall be very much present for all subsequent holidays throughout our degrees…

My GFX & Topics (HTML) projects went very well… we got an A+ for our Topics project, and about 39/40(!) for our GFX project, so that’s cool…
Unfortunately, due to a chronic lack of work, I barely managed to pass the year with a “B” grade, a severely downmarket performance during my Discrete, Logic and OS exams pulling down otherwise respectable grades overall. Never mind eh?.

    That’s all for now, g’day folks…

  • General update

I have been pestered by my friend Richard to update the page again, so here goes.
We have finished the first part of the graphics project (barely), and are now getting to grips with the delights of filled polygons.
A much greater challenge, as each polygon has to be clipped properly, etc.
The HTML project continues to go absolutely nowhere, as GFX is still far more interesting.
Um… ran out of food yesterday. Need to go to the shop 🙂
More clan reshuffles; we merged with our parent clan a week ago, and are now rather large.
I managed to grab a promotion out of it all, which is nice, but more work 🙁
Such is life, am happily listening to “Love’s Labour’s Lost” soundtrack, which I found in a friend’s room and promptly abducted.
Richard, get yourself a copy of it, it’s great. I’d send it you on Zip, but I don’t think you have a drive…. And I hope exams continue to go OK, or at least better than average.
Cya all l8rs, gotta write a polygon clipping routine 🙂
